SureSmile® vs. Invisalign® Aligners
If you have gaps or spaces between your teeth that you want to correct, braces and Invisalign® aren’t the only options. As 3D technology advances, patients are able to access more teeth straightening options, including SureSmile® aligners.
These aligners work similarly to Invisalign, but they have a key difference in how they are made. Both rely on digital scans of your mouth to create custom aligner trays — but SureSmile uses the Orascanner instead of the iTero digital scanner typical to Invisalign.
Both are effective ways to straighten your teeth without braces, though SureSmile may be better for some patients who want to use trays but require some additional orthodontic treatment first.
Does SureSmile Work Better Than Invisalign?
Both treatments are effective for patients, but SureSmile is generally more affordable than Invisalign due to the number of aligners a patient receives. Typically, patients are given three years’ worth of aligners with SureSmile, but some only need one to two years of teeth straightening to achieve their desired results.
For those with milder misalignments or minor gaps in the teeth, SureSmile can be just as effective as Invisalign at a lower cost.
SureSmile Offers More Advanced Teeth Straightening Options
In many cases, SureSmile patients receive a set of invisible braces first before switching to retainers. As a result, they are able to achieve more advanced alignment than patients who solely use Invisalign.
The invisible braces may be worn for a shorter period of time than traditional braces as patients eventually switch to aligners to complete their treatment.
Even for patients who don’t require orthodontic treatment first, SureSmile is able to offer a comprehensive treatment that can deliver amazing results in a much faster, far less intrusive manner than traditional braces.
